Squirrel
hunting tips

If
you are a squirrel hunter like me then it’s good to know these tips.
- If you
are walking while squirrel hunting then keep your eyes and ears
peeled but many times it is better to find a nice big oak and still
hunt for a while. Let
them come to you.
- Watch
for movement in the trees; also watch for that little tail wiggling
around. If you see one
keep your eye on him and don't lose him.
Keep track of him as long as you can and listen for barking
in the trees. When you
finally find which tree it is in then do your best to get right
under the branch the squirrel is on.
- If a
squirrel sees you while it is in the tree then it is going to run to
the other side and do everything it can to make sure that the tree
stays in between you and itself.
That is why it is good to have another person with you.
That way you can trap it.
But if you do happen to be alone, throw a stick or rock to
the other side, the squirrel will run back to your side allowing you
to take the shot. The same rule applies to when you are walking down a road and
aren't hearing anything, throw a stick into the woods and if there
is a squirrel on the ground it will run up a tree and start barking.
I hope
these tips are useful. Squirrel
hunting is a great way to start out for young hunters and even adult
hunters get into it.
